Colne Business Improvement District (BID) is an organisation that was set up over 3 years ago with an aim to enhance Colne as a great place to shop, socialise and do business.

Over the course of our relationship Colne BID have engaged Proper Video for help on various projects to deliver on their aim to reach, attract and engage people on social media and drive footfall to the town.

Proper Video have worked on numerous projects with Colne BID with two different BID Managers over the last two years. We believe this is testament to our excellent customer experience and ability to consistently deliver great results.

Health and Wellbeing campaign, 2022

As we approached 2022, Colne BID approached Proper Video to create a promotional video that would include an array of health and wellbeing businesses.

Over the course of three days we filmed with 14 different businesses from gyms to chiropractors, beauty therapists to food retailers.

The footage was then carefully edited into an action packed video designed to inspire viewers to make 2022 the year they took their health and wellbeing seriously which would result in viewers seeking out the businesses included in the video.

Christmas Campaign, 2021

To promote the quirky nature of the Colne people and encourage people to visit the town over the Christmas period Colne BID asked Proper Video to produce a number of social media videos to increase engagement.

The concept involved producing three videos where we used local businesses to recreate iconic scenes from much loved Christmas films. We used a local cafe to recreate a scene from Home Alone. A local interior design shop to recreate the famous ‘lovely’ scene from Love Actually and an Italian restaurant to recreate the spaghetti scene from Elf.

The videos were then released on social media as a guessing game where we invited viewers to guess which film the scene was from.

The result

In total the videos reached thousands of people from the surrounding areas of Colne. In addition, one of the videos was featured in an online article by The Lancashire Telegraph due to… well, quite terrible acting.

Christmas Guide Campaign, 2022

As part of a wider marketing campaign, Colne BID reached out to Proper Video to create a number of videos to support the publication of their 2022 Christmas Guide which featured various businesses and gave viewers gift ideas for the festive season.

Proper Video were asked to create three videos that featured businesses running events or selling products that customers could make at home. For example, a flower shop running a wreath making class, a local restaurant showing people how to make the perfect Christmas pudding and a cafe showing people how to make a great hot chocolate.
